A Somewhat Humorous Review on Bottom Growth Cream

Summary: Bottom grows, but causes me to hump too much

Full review:

For starters, you may remember if anyone ever mentioned it to you growing up that the clitoris and the penis are the same organ. The only difference is the size and urethral placement because of the process of seminal ejaculation. Many people who are on testosterone hormone replacement therapy see what is colloquially referred to as "bottom growth." This means that their organ, usually starting off the size of a pinky tip, grows closer to the size and appearance of what is often referred to as a penis. The urethral placement does not move, unfortunately, as that requires surgical intervention. However, the clitoral hood becomes the foreskin and erections become more noticeable as they cover higher surface area.

Illustration showing differences between pre and post bottom growth. The first is from before taking testosterone, the second is from after. Both images label the Hood (shaft) and Clitoris (head) at the top and then label labia majora, urethral opening, labia minora, and vagina opening. The Hood (shaft) and Clitoris (head) are remarkably larger in the lower illustration.

Bottom growth can be a difficult subject to find detailed information about online because of Puritan-culture originated shame around genitalia and sex in the US and resulting censorship of the subject on several popular conversational outlets. People who are trans may want to find solutions to bottom growth specifically for many reasons. Some only want bottom growth. Others, like me, can only tolerate microdosing T, which keeps all changes including bottom growth slower than if a person was on a higher dose. And then others are on finasteride, one of the few medications that helps prevent male pattern balding, which also slows or blocks other desired T effects.

Knowing I wanted to stay on my low dose, but desiring faster bottom growth, I looked on trans masc-centered subreddits. People on these subreddits suggested DHT cream, which is not legal in the US. I then asked my doctor, who having received positive feedback from other patients, prescribed me an additional testosterone compound cream. I had to get this cream from a specialty pharmacy and it was $90 for 90 doses, which is expensive and not coverable by insurance. But I figured it was something I really wanted so I went through with it and started applying 150mg doses directly to my organ at night before bed. The effects were meant to be localized.

Welp...that did not happen.

First, my body testosterone levels shot up from 126 to 765, the latter of which is on the highest end of the average range for testosterone found in people assigned male at birth or have been on testosterone for years. This led to paranoia and anxiety as further described in this post along with... sexsomnia.

Yep, I would half wake up in the early hours of the morning consistently, mind blank, total zombie, and my body would just get to plowing my girlfriend. The first few times, Grace kind of found this funny and I quickly got off the compound cream because, oops sorry. Then, in retrospect, thinking that due to my sensitivity I should only do 1 pump instead of 4, which would give me 37.5 mg of testosterone for bottom growth, I tried to restart the cream.

Nope, no dice. I resumed zombie plowing and Grace started finding it less charming. In fact, her exact words, put as delicately as possible since she knows how important bottom growth is to me, were, "Let's lay off the dick cream for a bit, okay baby?"

My doctor didn't want to stop the compound at all and instead wanted to lower the testosterone gel meant for overall transition. I did not agree with him, stopped the compound instead, and my testosterone level clocked back to 138 a month later.

If I really wanted to continue with this experiment, I might go back to my doctor and ask him to re-prescribe with a lower dose. I mean, $90 for 90 doses is kind of shit, but $90 for 360 or almost an entire year of doses especially if it's the right dose is pretty good, especially without insurance. But I'm seeing growth again on only my 10mg gel so I think I am just going to leave it.

Please note that if you are thinking of getting compound testosterone cream for bottom growth, your results may be different. However, other people online have reported that DHT cream or compounded testosterone meant for localized bottom growth often does enter into body's system and lead to other changes. If you are already sensitive to testosterone like I am, you are going to want to be cautious and at the very least start with a low dose. If I had been taking the compound for longer, my body would have started converting my testosterone into estrogen, which would have caused problems for my overall transition. I know dysphoria sucks, but PLEASE be safe, both for you and for any potential partner who may have to endure your less than stellar zombie sex efforts.
